On Saturday, March 21, we conducted our first spinning course for a group of dedicated and knowledge-seeking participants. Several brought their own spinning wheels, while others used the wheels available on site. The many spinning wheels humming throughout the day created an almost magical atmosphere, both cozy and welcoming.
Maiken, owner of SKYTTEN, drew on her archaeological background to convey knowledge about historical crafts, the origin of the spinning wheel, and how we have produced clothing for the body over the centuries.
The course was held in collaboration with instructor Fria Gemynthe, who specializes in historical textile tools, materials, and techniques.
All spots for the spinning course were quickly reserved, and a waiting list was created. Due to the great interest, more courses are planned for autumn 2026.
Thank you for the great support.
