SAGITTARIUS WEAVER

We are proud to introduce Eva Lilja Jensen at Skytten

Eva trained as a weaver from 1981-1984 with Kirsten and John Becker in Søllerød. Here, she worked with church textiles such as chasubles, altar cloths, antependia, and carpets.
After completing her education, Eva dreamed of becoming a textile conservator. In 1985, she applied to conservation studies, and while waiting for her studies to begin, she worked in the Tapestry Workshop at Rosenborg Castle, conserving tapestries. These tapestries can still be seen in the Great Hall today.
When Eva began her conservation studies, weaving was a hobby. However, time was short with both children and full-time work, so she only managed sporadic projects. Nevertheless, the dream of delving deeper into weaving continued in the background.
Today, Eva works as a conservator at the National Museum, where she is responsible for conserving a wide range of objects. However, her greatest passion lies in textile conservation.
In recent years, Eva has resumed weaving and is now creating beautiful and functional products such as dishcloths and towels.

Every Saturday from 12-2 PM, you can see Eva in action at the shop on Amagerbrogade, working on a loom with 8 shafts and 10 treadles, demonstrating her craft and passion for weaving.
