We are delighted to welcome Maiken Bjørnholt to the Ashford family! Maiken has recently purchased the Skytten business from Linda and Henrik Larsen and has become the Ashford distributor in Denmark.

Maiken’s love for weaving started as she watched her mother weave exquisite tapestries.

She is a qualified archaeologist and a schoolteacher, and for the past 15 years, she has worked in various museums, including the Textile Research Centre at the University of Copenhagen, where she has studied Viking Age clothing and prehistoric textiles from Denmark.

Her dream is to now combine her love for history, craftsmanship, and education to continue the preservation and growth of the weaving tradition.

Her goal is to not only share the rich history of the craft but also teach and promote the Ashford brand.

The new Skytten store has been relocated to Copenhagen. The store will primarily showcase Ashford products and offer an extensive range of weaving accessories, yarns, and other craft supplies for knitting, crocheting, and felting. Additionally, finished products, such as woven tapestries, rugs, scarves etc, will be available for purchase. A dedicated workshop space accommodates weaving classes and live demonstrations.
